Galfer are the original designer and manufacturer of the wave disc, with wavy inner and outer edges. Advantages of this design are reduced weight & gyroscopic effect, more braking power, better heat dissipation, self cleaning effect and unique visuals.

The stainless steel disc is laser cut and heat treated to prevent warping. It also has a high carbon content which offers better friction with Galfer's recommended compound brake pad.

Fitment/Safety/Warranty Notice.

CAUTION! SAFETY NOTICE! PLEASE READ!
  • Please read these instructions carefully before attempting installation.
  • Always read mounting instructions on the disc packaging.
  • These instructions are a guideline and not special for a specific brand.
  • It is recommended that you use new pads, Galfer or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), when mounting a new disc. Old or used pads may take a long time to bed in a new disc and may adversely affect the performance and longevity of the new disc. The use of other aftermarket brands of pads with Galfer discs will invalidate your warranty and could reduce performance.
  • Make sure the wheel hub contact surface is free of dirt or paint and use new disc mounting bolts if necessary.
  • Replace your brake fluid frequently and make sure your brake system is bled correctly.
  • The thickness of the Galfer disc may vary from the original disc; this difference is not of any importance for your brake function.
  • Centre the disc on the clean hub and mount the bolts according to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) torque specs.
  • Always use your new brakes gently for the first 100 km (60 miles) or 2 hours of riding after installation (except in emergency situations). This will allow the new disc and pads to mate properly. Avoid harsh braking during this period unless in an emergency. Braking power can be severely reduced during the breaking-in period. Repeated hard braking during the bed-in period can result in wheel lock, brake-loss and damaged pads.
  • Check clips, hub mounting bolts and caliper mounting bolts regularly during the lifetime of your Galfer product. Replace or tighten to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications as necessary.
  • All Galfer discs and kits can be used with the standard brake hosing and the stock master cylinder.
  • Consult a certified dealer or professional mechanic if you are not fully qualified in motorcycle maintenance. Galfer cannot be held responsible for any damage or injury caused by incorrect product mounting, disregarding specifications and these instructions, or product mounting by an unqualified third party.
